About Us

Everett Transit is a municipally owned and operated transit system of the City of Everett. It is a division of the Transportation Services Department, along with the Motor Vehicles Division. 

Everett Transit operates local fixed-route and paratransit services seven days a week, including most holidays, within the City of Everett. We offer a Customer Service Center at Everett Station, where we connect customers to a variety of regional transportation options.

The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the City. The Everett Municipal Code gives the Mayor authority to modify service and adjust schedules. The Everett City Council has the authority to establish fares and recommend tax rates, subject to voter approval. 

A volunteer citizen advisory board, the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC), provides input and advisory direction to city staff and administration for transit service and other transportation-related matters.

1Mike Schmieder is the Transportation Services Director and part of the Mayor’s senior management team.

With over 16 years of experience at Everett Transit, beginning as a driver and then moving into a variety of roles, he welcomes the rewards, challenges and energy created from working together to make a difference. He embraces a top-down style of customer service believing that as leadership listens, values and honors frontline staff, they will in turn value and serve our community.

Mike is passionate about serving his community, recognizing that Everett is a city bursting with potential. He is both proud and humbled to be afforded the opportunity to be leading Everett Transit in it’s daily mission; connecting people to life.
