Important Rider Reminders

  • No weapons on Everett Transit buses
  • No smoking or vaping on Everett Transit buses
  • Animals must be on a leash at all times. Pets must be kept on your lap or on the floor of the bus; animals may not occupy a customer seat.

Mobility Items and Hazardous Materials

Allowed

The following items are permitted when they are secured and stowed safely out of aisles:

  • Medical oxygen tanks.
  • Segways: Only allowed when used as a mobility device by someone with a mobility-related disability.
  • Electric scooters: Privately owned, foldable scooters are allowed if the battery is not exposed.
  • Non-powered, foldable scooters.
  • Hoverboards, One Wheels, electric skateboards.
  • Electric bicycles: Allowed if they fit on bike racks and do not exceed 55 lbs.
  • Strollers: We recommend boarding with strollers folded. There is no guarantee that unfolded strollers can be accommodated for every trip.
  • Two-wheeled shopping carts and small wagons: There may be room for these items, but there is no guarantee they can be accommodated for every trip.

Prohibited

The following items are never allowed on Everett Transit buses and paratransit vehicles:

  • Flammable liquids and hazardous materials (e.g. car and marine batteries, gasoline, diesel, propane tanks, industrial oxygen cylinders, welding gas cylinders, used gas cans).
  • Any industrial item that generally carries a warning label stating that it is flammable, explosive, or corrosive — even if the label is removed.
  • Commercial electric scooters and bicycles may not be transported inside buses or on bike racks (e.g. Lime, Bird, etc.).
  • Grocery-style shopping carts.

Everett Transit reserves the right to deny carrying an item not specifically referenced herein if there is a reasonable and articulable safety concern with the item. Items not used as mobility devices by someone with a mobility-related disability should not be stored in wheelchair securement locations.
